Maximum Football Code of Conduct

Last Updated: 10th March 2025

At Maximum Football, we believe in creating a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all players, coaches, and families involved in our program. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behavior and responsibilities of coaches, parents, and players. By participating in Maximum Football, you agree to adhere to these guidelines.

1. Coaches' Code of Conduct

As a coach at Maximum Football, I will:

  1. Prioritise Player Welfare: Always place the well-being, health, and safety of players above all else.
  2. Promote Fair Play: Encourage and demonstrate good sportsmanship, respect for opponents, and adherence to the rules of the game.
  3. Provide a Safe Environment: Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants, free from bullying, harassment, and discrimination.
  4. Communicate Effectively: Maintain open lines of communication with players and parents, providing feedback and support.
  5. Be a Role Model: Exhibit exemplary behavior, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and respect at all times.
  6. Encourage Development: Focus on the development of players’ skills, confidence, and enjoyment of the game, rather than solely on winning.
  7. Respect Officials: Show respect towards referees and officials, accepting their decisions and promoting a culture of respect among players.

2. Parents' Code of Conduct

As a parent or guardian of a player at Maximum Football, I will:

  • Support My Child: Encourage my child to enjoy the sport, emphasizing effort and personal improvement over winning.
  • Respect Coaches and Officials: Show respect for coaches and officials, understanding that they are working in the best interest of the players.
  • Promote Positive Behavior: Model good sportsmanship and positive behavior, encouraging my child to treat teammates and opponents with respect.
  • Communicate Concerns: Address any concerns or issues directly with coaches in a constructive manner, avoiding confrontations during games or practices.
  • Provide Transportation Safely: Ensure my child arrives on time for practices and games and is picked up promptly afterward.
  • Volunteer Support: Be willing to support the team and club through volunteering, whether it be for events, fundraising, or other activities.

3. Players' Code of Conduct

As a player in Maximum Football, I will:

  • Show Respect: Treat coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials with respect and dignity, regardless of the situation.
  • Give My Best Effort: Always strive to do my best during practices and games, showing commitment to my personal and team development.
  • Follow the Rules: Adhere to the rules of the game and the guidelines set forth by coaches and the organisation.
  • Practice Good Sportsmanship: Celebrate success graciously, and accept defeat with humility, recognizing that both are part of the game.
  • Support My Teammates: Encourage and support my teammates, working collaboratively to achieve our goals as a team.
  • Communicate Openly: Discuss any concerns or challenges with my coach in a respectful manner, seeking guidance and support when needed.
  • Have Fun: Enjoy the game and make the most of my experience in football, embracing the joy of teamwork and competition.

4. Consequences for Breach of Conduct

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, which can include:

  1. Verbal or written warnings
  2. Temporary suspension from games or practices
  3. Permanent removal from the team or organisation

Conclusion

By agreeing to this Code of Conduct, all participants—coaches, parents, and players—commit to fostering a positive and respectful environment at Maximum Football. Together, we can ensure that our program remains a safe and enjoyable space for everyone involved.
